FAQ

What's the difference between a syrup and a cordial?

Nothing! A cordial is an old fashioned term for a fruit forward syrup.

How long do the cordials/syrups keep?

We have a best by date (not to be confused with an expiry date) of one year from the day it was made stamped on the bottle. Unopened, they will last well past a year. Use your very sensible judgement to determine if you think it has gone "off"?

Do the cordials/syrups need to be refrigerated?

Yes! Once opened please place in the refrigerator and use within 3-4 months.

How do I know if it's gone off?

Typically, the product will smell like vinegar, or in the odd circumstances, mould will be visible at the top of the bottle.

Can I use these with my soda maker?

That's exactly what they are for. You don't need a particular bubbly water maker. You can use it with a can of club soda, Pelligrino, etc.

Can you recommend a bubbly maker?

There are 3 big plaayers on the market right now:

  • Soda Stream

  • Aarke

  • Sparkel

Each one works great, but for a modern esthetique, we love the Aarke.

But I don't like bubbly water, what else can I use it in?

We got you covered! Our cordials/syrups can be used in tap water, or to sweeten lemonades + iced teas, or boost the flavour of a smoothie. Then, of course, these are super special for making cocktails with. Get creative!

How much cordial do I use?

Through years of customer feedback and our own experience we have found the sweet spot to be 1/2 to 1 ounce of cordial/syrup depending on how much sweetness and flavour you want. Remember, this is an ingredient, so it's all up to you how much or how little you use.

What kinds of cocktails are these good for?

We suggest looking at your favourite cocktail recipe that asks for a simple syrup and substituting one of our cordials in. Want to jazz up a vodka soda or gin + tonic? Just add 1/2-1 ounce of cordial. Use ANY flavour to mix up a batch of margaritas, shake up some mojitos, or wow your non imbibing friends with a mocktail.

Why does the cordial/syrup separate?

We do not use corn syrup (YAY!) or gumming agents in our products. Natural seperation happens. All you need to do is give the bottle a good old fashioned shake and it'll be good to go. Cheers!

Are your cordials/syrups pasteurized?

Yes. We process our products similarly to how one would make jam.

Do you ship?

We sure do, but only within Canada. You can shop our online store here

Any plans to ship to the US?

Not at this time. You'll just have to come visit us at our shop in beautiful Squamish, BC!

Do you have a store?

Yes + no. We have a tiny showroom at our production space in Squamish. At the moment, we are only open the days we are in production or by appointment only.

Do you sell to other stores?

Lots! Check out our interactive map for a retail partner near you.

Do you wholesale?

Absolutely we do! If you are interested in becoming a retail partner, please follow this link to fill out our wholesale inquiry form.

What's your most popular flavour?

Hands down, our Mango Passionfruit, followed closely by Elderflower and Rhubarb Strawberry.

What's YOUR favourite flavour?

Martyn can't live without the Hula Hula Cordial and Peggy adores Rhubarb Ginger, but they are both most proud of their Elderflower.

Where can I get your shave ice/snow cones?

We only shave ice at the Squamish + Whistler farmers markets, and occasionally at special events along the Sea to Sky. Check out our schedule here.

How come you don't wholesale all of the flavours I see on the website?

We truly make our product in small batches. Sometimes we only get enough fruit to make a very limited amount of a particular flavour, so we are unable to supply other shops. Because fruit crops vary season to season, some years we just don't get enough of a particular fruit to supply every store that wants that flavour. When there is a bad crop year prices tend to jump (for example, in 2021 we saw blackberries affected by multiple heat domes and the price doubled overnight) which prices us out from making a product in line with our production budget. I know, it sucks for us too, but there's always next year!
