Sorbet
Sorbet, one of the easiest, most refreshing desserts you can whip up within minutes...and feel good about the indulgence. Such a great dessert to have tucked in the fridge for when you have on hand during BBQ season.
Method
When making a sorbet, add 2-3c frozen fruit to your blender or food processor and add 1/4 c of HOT water (use more as needed to blend smooth). Add cordial and any other ingredients until well blended. Pour into a freezer safe container and put into the freezer for 4 hours or overnight (but I can tell you if the blended mixture is firm enough, you can eat right away!).
Pro tip - pull out of the freezer for 10 minutes to become scoopable.
Flavour combos we like to blend up:
Raspberry Wild Rose Sorbet - 3c raspberries +3 Tbsp raspberry wild rose cordial + 1 tsp lime juice
Apricot Peach Sorbet - 3c peaches + 2 Tbsp apricot peach cordial + 1tsp lemon juice
Strawberry Watermelon Sorbet - 3 1/2 c watermelon + 1/4-1/2c strawberry cordial + 1 tsp lime juice
Tropical Sorbet - 3 c mango + 2 Tbsp hula hula cordial + 1/2 c coconut water + 1 tsp lime juice
Why add cordial? The added sugar in the cordial helps make the sorbet more palatable, less icy, and easily spoonable. Without it your sorbet could be very hard and too icy. Fruit flavours get lost in this form. The cordial enhancing the flavour, as well.
